Athletes for Asian Games 2018 Appointed by Satlak Prima

Athletes from Jakarta will be appointed directly by Gold Indonesia Program Working Unit (Satlak Prima) to compete in Asian Games 2018. Considering, Jakarta Provincial Government does not have an authority to choose the athletes.

"We don't know the number of athletes since it is not us who appoint them. It is Satlak Prima authority," said Ratiyono, Head of Jakarta Sport and Youth Dept. (Disorda), Monday (6/12).

According to him, Satlak Prima already have data of talented athletes in Indonesia. The chosen athletes will have trial in SEA Games in Malaysia and join national training (pelatnas). There are several featured sports such as wushu, badminton, martial arts, karate, and taekwondo.

City Asked to Promote Asian Games Intensively

"The chosen athletes are usually world champion or National Sport Week (PON) champion," he expressed.

He added the recent number of sport contested in Asian Games 2018 is still not final. Based on last information, at least there are 36 sports contested.

"Sport that will be contested is still changing. Recent information there are 36 sports contested," he closed.
